Squad composition may reflect the ratio and the mix of fighters on larger teams. Two of the five would be heavy-infantry (Linemen), one would be light-infantry (a Skirmisher), and two would be regular-infantry fighters (one Flanker and one Shock Trooper).
Heavy Infantry Linemen are normally larger athletes. These fighters wear more armor, carry larger shields, and employ heavier weapons. On big teams Linemen make up the main battle lines during pitched combat.
Light Infantry Skirmishers are normally smaller athletes. These fighters wear less armor, carry a small shield (or no shield), and employ light weapons or missiles. On large teams Skirmishers deploy forward of the main battle lines, to probe the opposing side for weaknesses and lapses of discipline.
Regular Infantry Flankers and Shock Troops carry medium sized shields and a mix of weaponry.
Flankers should be the fastest members of each team and are used to move rapidly into areas of opportunity or around exposed flanks near the main battle line of the enemy.
Shock Troops are held in reserve to forcefully exploit weaknesses that are developed in the opposition or to support the main battle line during a crisis.
